These terms apply to Rateory, operated by Northbird, a business registered in the Netherlands (KvK 42164736). By using Rateory, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

1. Reference information only

Rateory provides currency conversion tools, historical reference rates and optional target-rate alerts for informational purposes. Rates may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable or different from the rates offered by banks, brokers, card issuers, exchanges or money-transfer providers.

Rateory rates are not executable trading or transaction quotes. Always confirm the final exchange rate, fees, taxes and other conditions with the provider that will execute your transaction.

2. No financial advice

Rateory does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal or payment advice and does not recommend that you buy, sell, hold or transfer any currency or financial instrument.

3. Rate alerts

Mobile push alerts are optional and provided on a best-effort basis. A notification may be delayed, duplicated or missed because of network conditions, device settings, Firebase delivery, reference-data availability or service interruptions. Do not rely on Rateory alerts for time-critical trading or payment decisions.

4. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Rateory available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or that every currency, historical point or feature will always be available. We may maintain, modify, suspend or discontinue features when reasonably necessary.

5. Acceptable use

You may use Rateory for lawful personal or business purposes. You must not attempt to overload, scrape at abusive rates, bypass security controls, interfere with other users, reverse-engineer protected service components, or use Rateory in a way that violates applicable law or third-party rights.

6. Third-party services and data

Rateory depends on infrastructure, notification and reference-data providers. Their availability and data can change independently of Rateory. References to third-party services do not imply endorsement of their commercial offers or transaction rates.

7. Intellectual property

The Rateory name, design, software and original content are owned by or licensed to Northbird except where third-party rights apply. These terms do not transfer ownership of Rateory intellectual property to you.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Northbird is not liable for losses caused by reliance on reference rates, missed alerts, third-party data, service interruptions or decisions made using Rateory. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, remedies or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how Rateory handles local data and optional notification data.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections that apply under the law of their country of residence or other mandatory applicable law.
