Corrections Policy
Last reviewed: 1 November 2026
Rateory aims to distinguish a true website or data problem from the normal difference between a reference rate and a provider’s executable quote. Reports are checked against the source data, Rateory calculation logic and the wording shown on the affected page.
How to report an issue
Email [email protected] with the page URL, currency pair, reference date displayed by Rateory and a concise description of the suspected error. A screenshot can help when the problem is visual, but never send passwords, full card numbers or account credentials.
How reports are checked
- Confirm the exact Rateory route, inputs and reference date.
- Compare the result with the upstream reference data or the documented fixed-conversion rule.
- Check whether fees, provider margin, timing or local market conditions explain the difference.
- If Rateory is wrong, correct the calculation, source description or editorial wording as appropriate and retest the affected flow.
What counts as a correction?
A correction is appropriate when Rateory miscalculates a value, misstates its source or methodology, presents outdated explanatory information as current, or contains another material factual error. A bank or transfer provider showing a different retail quote is not by itself proof that Rateory’s reference value is incorrect.
Upstream revisions
Reference-data providers can revise or republish historical observations. When an upstream value changes, Rateory may reflect the revised source without implying that the earlier provider publication was fabricated. Material methodology changes are documented on the Methodology or Data Sources pages.
