Editorial Policy
Last reviewed: 1 November 2026
Rateory is a reference and comparison service operated by Northbird. Our editorial goal is to help users understand what a currency reference rate can and cannot tell them before they use a bank, card, exchange office or money-transfer provider.
What is editorial content?
Guides, methodology notes, glossary definitions, policy pages and pair-specific cautions are publisher content maintained by Rateory. They are written to explain comparison methods, fees, spreads, settlement timing and source limitations rather than to predict currencies or recommend a financial transaction.
What is automated?
Currency calculations, currency labels and rate-dependent interface elements are generated by software from structured inputs and reference data. Some utility routes also use reusable presentation templates. Automation is used to perform calculations and keep the interface consistent; it is not presented as independent expert analysis.
Rateory deliberately limits which utility pages are intended as Search landing pages. Localized or preset conversion routes may remain available for users while being excluded from indexing when their independent publisher value does not justify a separate search result.
Accuracy standards
- Reference-rate claims should identify or link to the underlying data methodology.
- Provider-specific fees or transaction rates are not invented or presented as universal.
- Historical data is used for context, not as a forecast.
- Higher-risk or fragmented currency markets receive explicit cautions where a public reference can differ materially from locally available rates.
- Rateory does not create fictional experts, credentials or financial endorsements.
Commercial relationships
Advertising supports the website. Advertising does not change the reference-rate calculation or the editorial explanation of a currency pair. If Rateory later introduces affiliate links or sponsored comparisons, they must be identified clearly rather than presented as neutral editorial rankings.
Corrections and accountability
